THE POWER OF PEOPLE (added 27/12/09)

Some people touch your life in ways you can never understand.  In ways that you can never explain to them and in ways they will never know.

It’s that moment when your eyes lock with someone and you can see right into their soul, you exchange that secret smile shared only between the two of you.  You share a special language speaking in half-finished sentences, knowing  that the rest of the words are simply not necessary.

Just because you can’t see things doesn’t mean they don’t exist.  Just because words are not spoken aloud, doesn’t mean they are not thought. Just because someone does not tell you their feelings for you, does not mean they are not felt.

Some people enter into your life  to give you something you need at that time, to give you hope, courage or a well needed laugh.

Why is it sometimes so difficult and complicated to have a new relationship with someone of the opposite sex when you both have a partner, one person is always reading  more into it, or is afraid to get too close for fear of what their partners or others may think.

When you are travelling these barriers cease to exist, the complications disappear and you simply cherish that moment in time and how that person makes you feel.

I feel extremely fortunate as people always appear during moments in my life when I need a quick boost. When I have been travelling and was desperately in need of conversation,  to share a smile with someone or an experience with.

These people might bless your life for a few minutes or even hours, yet the footprint they leave behind on your heart is imprinted forever.

People come into your life for a reason, and while it sometimes breaks your heart to say goodbye, to look someone in the eyes and not be able to divulge the depth of your true feelings, or to know you will only ever know this person for a brief moment in time, when you remind yourself they are entering into your life for a reason it opens up your heart and allows you to let them in.

Everyone who has entered into my life, has given me something for which I am eternally grateful, whether it’s the funny story someone tells you, a touching story that inspires you to be a better person, or even that negative jealous person who puts you down  and only serves to make you stronger.

Without the people in my life, I wouldn’t be the person I am today, and no amount of words can ever express my gratitude for every single person who has entered into my world, given me a piece of themselves, and shaped me into the person I am today.
