A day in the life of a want-to-be traveler
Yesterday I woke at 6am, jumped in my car at 7am, drove 2 hours to arrive at Byron Bay at 9am …..
I had a coffee and at 9:15 am drove an hour back to the New South Wales/Queensland border where I drove south beach hopping along the way, to arrive at Surfers Paradise in time for sunset at 6pm…….
drove an hour and a half back to Byron Bay where I had dinner, then drove two hours back to Brisbane where I arrived at midnight and collapsed into bed…..
In hindsight a 17 hour round trip may not have been my best laid plan, but man I had an awesome day.
Ok so lets stop for a moment to try to explain the method to my madness.
My husband has some friends from London in Australia, like every traveller coming to Australia they have no idea how big my country is, so they try to cram as much in as is humanly possible.
Like every want-to-be traveller currently living in their home town – I will jump on any adventurous, traveling bandwagon I possibly can.
My country is beautiful so any chance to show it off I will.
Don’t believe me, see for yourself!
See, it’s beautiful and as a picture is meant to paint a thousand words, consider those photos containing a thousand of the most beautiful words I can imagine.
Some days you need to do the most ridiculous things, to remember that chaotic, exhilarating feeling that only a traveler knows.
Today I woke up exhausted, satisfied and wondering was it all a dream!
