Champagne pools – Fraser Island

When I heard we were going to visit Champagne Pools I almost leapt out of my chair in delight.

Two such fabulous words together, how can this place be anything but fabulous.

Day 2 of our Fraser Island tour and the weather had become a little overcast, normally this would upset me but after three days in the sun and my skin already turning a deep shade of brown and looking like I am wearing a white bikini when I wasn’t if you catch my drift! I was grateful to have a short reprise.

So while I imagine just how spectacular this sight would have been with the sun beaming down on the water changing the colour drastically, the sight before us was breathtaking.

Champagne Pools obtained its name by the way the water bubbles up over the rocks the way champagne bubbles in your glass when you pour it in it.

I am spoilt by an abundance of natural beauty in my hometown Queensland, yet Fraser Island continued to charm and surprise me.
