Day 2 driving adventure – Noosa to Hervey Bay
It’s now day 3 of my adventure and with the perfect day I have had today, I am trying to get back to yesterday.
My brain is a scrambled excited mess!
Noosa bid us farewell with a beautiful rainbow over the mountains.
The drive from Noosa to Hervey Bay was ah I am going to say average, but it didn’t matter that we got a bit lost, had the usual do you know where you are going?, yes darling, icy silence when we are pulled over on side of road clearly not knowing where we were going situation 🙂
Two seconds later and all was good again until for the next 3 hours we could not find a single coffee shop.
Arriving at Hervey Bay one glance into the water and miles of beach stretched out before us, all was right with the world again.
Like a little excited kid whose mum had packed the best lunch we got to the hotel and had a picnic on the floor. (Got to be honest my mum did actually pack a lunch – left over Xmas food- it doesn’t get better than that)
After 4 hours of driving and our picnic was demolished in ten satisfying minutes, we set out to explore, like any good traveler would.
With no clue where we were or where we were going we headed to the water and just walked.
For me the best discovery of the day was the amazing pool in our hotel where I spent the remainder of the afternoon basking in a euphoric glow.
As the sun set over the marina and we ate dinner in a tired and happy daze I felt truly grateful for the opportunities I have that allow me the freedom to explore.
