Open eyes, endless days.

Some days flash by in the blink of an eye, others are long, endless, time stands still, and that holiday feeling reawakens.

Yesterday at a property in Maleny, Queensland, time stood still.

Horses roamed calmly, the dog ran free crazily, birds swooped relentlessly, yet the happiness in the air was ubiquitous.

Yesterday, as I gazed out at the spectacular scenery in my beautiful country, my heart sang, my mind slowed and my body relaxed.

On a winter’s day in Maleny, with clouds hanging over head and the sun still managing to shine and warm my skin, I wondered not for the first time, how I managed to be so lucky to live in such an amazing place.

I don’t quite know why days are so much longer when you are on a holiday, and why it feels impossible  at times to recreate that in your normal life, but when you are struggling to find time in your hectic life, sometimes the best thing to do is to take time out like this.

Slow down, recharge, rekindle your excitement for life, your desire to explore and appreciate everything around you, see the world through new eyes. See the world as you would through your traveling eyes.
